India & Nepal Trip 2018

It is with a grateful heart that I write this recount of my trip to India and Nepal in January and February. This journey began exactly 10 years ago when I first travelled to India after completing a Certificate IV in Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultation. I was in awe of this ancient healing art and was lucky enough to study at various Ayurvedic teaching centres for 4 weeks. The humbleness, dedication and complete gratitude by Ayurvedic Doctors for their gifts of healing was inspiring. It was this experience that drove my passion to create an Ayurvedic Centre in Australia.

10 years later, after setting up my own centre, I was fortunate enough to travel back to India with my daughter, Amelia. Surrounded by lush greenery in a scenery that can only be explained as a part of the Jungle Book, we completed a 30-day Panchakarma training course, where I learnt 25 Ayurvedic authentic Panchakarma treatments. During this time we saw elephants and monkeys, sipped on fresh coconuts and visited local Spice and Tea Plantations.
My highlight was being invited to speak at an Ayurvedic International Conference as a Western Woman promoting Ayurveda in Australia.

After our incredible experience in India, we were lucky enough to join Lama Tendar’s spiritual pilgrimage in Nepal. We visited inspiring Monasteries in breathtaking locations high up in the Nepalese mountains and chanted with Lama Tendar at the Great Stupa in Kathmandu plus in Lumbini where Buddha was born.
The most memorable experience would have to be flying in a Helicopter over Mount Everest Base Camp and stepping foot onto the Himalayas at 16,000 feet, where we planted Tibetan Prayer flags with Lama Tendar.

Thank you to all of you who followed us along the way on Facebook and Instagram. Your feedback and comments encouraged and motivated us. We are now inspired to introduce and promote the new treatments that we learnt, in line with the appropriate seasons.
